Report: Inspector looking into Berrios allegations

It was a WGN investigation that first showed how Cook County Assessor Joe Berrios boldly practiced nepotism.
Now after refusing an ethics board demand that he fire his 3 family members or pay a fine, he now faces a formal investigation.
The Sun-Times reporting that the county has hired former City Hall inspector general David Hoffman to look into the allegations.
He claims the county’s ethics laws don’t apply to elected officials expect for board members.
We also reported Berrios has twice hired woman a friend and her son.
