McMichael won’t debate mayoral opponent

Ex-Chicago Bear Steve McMichael finds something he doesn’t want to tackle.

The member of the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Bears does not want to debate his opponent for mayor of Romeoville, incumbent John Noak.

McMichael says he doesn’t want to give Noak the media exposure.

The election is April 9.

There's something just plain wrong with Mongo's logic of not wanting to give the current mayor media exposure. It's usually the other way around, where a current official doesn't want to debate and give the challenger the forum to chip away at the current administration. I'd be a little concerned about the lack of a platform and relying on 'celebrities' hawking his ‘name’. The citizens of Romeoville started wearing shoes and tossed the straw hats a couple of 10 years ago and should be seeing what's really happening here, they're not hicks anymore, I hope.

Perhaps because he knows nothing about public administration.

I agree. His skill of see ball, tackle man, isn't going to work out for him while he's trying to run a city.

You do have a valid point! Illinois has always been a little slow in the political leadership aspect. However, we keep electing them:(
