A man in his 30′s is killed in a shooting involving Chicago police early Saturday morning on the city’s Northwest Side.
The man was driving east on Wilson Avenue and hit an SUV as he crossed Kimball Avenue and several other parked cars before coming to rest in the middle of the block.
An unmarked police SUV was following the car.
After the driver came to a stop, he shot at police and they returned fire, fatally striking him.
Fraternal Order of Police Spokesman Patrick Camden said two officers injured themselves diving for cover as the man opened fire.
Both were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, he said.

Police are here to enforce the law. What did he think was going to happen when he tried to kill the cops? Did he think the cops were going to ask him to apologize?? Remember, a police officer or firefighters number one responsibility is to go home to their family after their shift is over. The police did their job.

Police are not trained to shoot to injure. A firearm is deadly force and should never be used "to injure." The guy shot at the police and was met with the same force he chose to use. He's dead, cops are alive. If you shoot at the police, you should fully expect they will shoot back to protect their lives and the lives of the public. I don't understand the ignorance behind the thought process that if the police are being shot at, they should "shoot to injure". Should they have shot the gun out of his hand too? This guy chose his ending. Luckily most criminals aren't very good shots. Im sure we will see his 8th grade graduation picture on the news. It's probably the only diplomat he has.

I have witnessed police abuse their authority most of my life, this does not surprise me. Then when they get caught lying they say "who are you going to belive?" Well the fact of the matter is cops are not above the law and should be prosecuted the same way as anyone else. If this turns ot to be true I want to see those cops go to jail like the criminals they claim to protect us from.
