CTA train riders will be relieved that the Wells Street bridge is now open.
Purple and Brown line trains are back on their rush hour schedules. The bridge is still closed to cars and pedestrians until November.
The bridge had been shut down for nine days as crews replaced the southern half of the bridge.
Another shutdown is coming April 26, when the northern half will be replaced.
The new parts of the bridge are gray, but the whole structure will return to its signature red color, when the job is done.
