The owner of a scrap yard on the Far South Side is being held by Chicago Police, after being accused of helping thieves steal and scrap 8 school buses.
Sergio Quintero, 44, was charged late Saturday night with illegal possession of auto titles. The buses were taken from the Sunrise bus company early Friday morning.
Each bus was shredded, and the scrap was sold for roughly $3,500 per bus.
GPS tracking devices led police to what was left of them.
Police arrested three other people on Friday.
