A man has died after the car he was in crashed into a Romeoville retention pond.
At about 12:30 a.m. Monday, Romeoville police got a call for maroon Pontiac Grand Prix that drove into a retention pond at the corner of Lakeview Drive and Remington Boulevard in Romeoville.
There were four men in the car — three were able to make it out but one did not. A combined effort among Romeoville, Bolingbrook and Naperville was used to get the fourth man out of the water. The man, identified by police as Adam M. Johnson, 28, was taken by ambulance to Adventist Bolingrook Hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
The conditions of the other three men were checked out by medical personal. They had no major injuries
It’s unclear why the car went into the retention po0nd.
The investigation is on-going.
