One woman is dead and  three others hospitalized after a car plunges into a west suburban retention pond.

State police report the car went off the eastbound exit ramp of Interstate-88 at Eola Rd just before 7:30 last night.

The vehicle was upside down in the water when emergency crews arrived on the scene.

They had to search the water for hours.

Emory Diaz Sepulveda’s body was eventually found and she was declared dead at the scene.
