President Barack Obama will travel to Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago’s western suburbs next week to promote his energy policies.
The Friday trip to Argonne, near Lemont, is to “focus on American energy,” according to an administration official.
Aides would not say whether Obama also plans to talk about the sequester cuts and their impact on such facilities.
White House strategists have said Obama will continue to talk about the effects of those automatic cuts, but that he also wouldn’t be derailed from talking about other domestic issues. Development of alternative energy is an important part of Obama’s economic plan.
