Link between European flu vaccine, child narcolepsy?

Dr. Kevin Most: Truly one of the worst flu seasonsThere is growing evidence of a link between a flu vaccine in Europe , and an increase in narcolepsy cases in children.

Researchers in England have been following the trend, and found children who received the bird flu vaccine had a higher risk of developing narcolepsy, a sleep disorder characterized by daytime sleep attacks.

Similar results have already been found in Sweden, Finland and Ireland.

In November, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration voted to recommend the vaccine, despite the risks, arguing that the benefits outweighed the risks.
