A “pedestrian incident” tonight is causing all BNSF Metra trains to be stopped on approach to Westmont, officials said.
The incident happened near Cass Avenue in Westmont, said Tom Miller, a Metra spokesman.
The pedestrian incident involved a Metra equipment train, but the investigation is affecting all Metra trains between Aurora and Chicago, according to the Metra website.
Delays of more than an hour are expected, Metra said at 5:55 p.m. and no trains east or west of the Westmont stop will be able to pass, Miller said.
As of 6:15 p.m., it was not clear when service on the BSNF line would resume, Miller said.
