In a press event Thursday afternoon Facebook creator, Mark Zuckerberg rolled out a redesign of one of the website’s key features.
Facebook’s, “News feed” is moving away from traditional text-based status updates and is trying to incorporate more photo uploads directly from users.
Improved organization between pages dedicated to friends, businesses, and “Likes” was also included in the changes.
Facebook also announced more consistency in appearance for the site’s design between mobile and desktop.
Changes to Facebook’s layout are usually met with strong reactions from users.
The announcement came from Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California.
