The heavy snowfall may have caused a huge section of a roof to collapse at a popular banquet hall in Des Plaines.
A hole in the ceiling at Café la Cave measure about 30 feet by 50 feet.
The collapse happened just before 1 a.m. today. Fortunately, no one was there at the time.
The collapse sheared off a pipe from the sprinkler system, sending water into the building.
The city`s building and engineering departments are now working with the banquet hall’s owners to determine if other parts of the building are safe.
