The Senate Judiciary Committee will consider a new bipartisan bill this week aimed at slowing the flow of illegal guns.

Illinois Senators Mark Kirk and Dick Durbin are among the key sponsors of the bill.  It is named for Chicago shooting victim Hadiya Pendleton.

The bill would impose stiff penalties for straw purchases, in which people buy guns with the intention of passing them to gang members or others.

The bill could reach the full Senate as early as April.

So whats going to be named for all those other children that have died in Chicago. How come the first lady didn't come to those other funerals. Everyone of those children that have been murdered or shot by gangbangers in Chicago are just as special and they deserve to get the attention too.
