An Orland Park firefighter is held on $250,000 bond after being charged with reckless homicide in a fatal crash last week.
Police say 45-year old Patrick Bruce drove his S-U-V into two other vehicles last Friday near Tinley Park.
Twenty-five-year old Anasis Knox of Downers Grove died from injuries in the crash. Two other people were taken to the hospital.
Bruce has been on leave from the department the past eight months following an injury.

I worked with Pat for a number of years at Fire Station 2 in Orland Park. I don't know the circumstances of the wreck, and I can only hope the law takes its intended course free from the influence of irrelevant circumstances; that he (like any other accused person) is afforded due process. What I do know about Pat is that if your car was broken down in -30 degree weather, he'd come to help you without hesitating. And if you were in a smoke-filled, zero-visibility room, with the temperature hovering at 600 degrees, Pat wouldn't turn around and leave you to burn to death. He's spent his entire adult life coming to the aid of strangers, and I can assure you the last thing he'd do is purposely inflict harm on someone.

Well said Eric, it's a shame people who have no idea about the man or the circumstances involved want to talk a lot of garbage!
