Have you done your taxes yet? I haven’t! Here’s a few apps that will help you get your taxes done, plus a few apps that will help you be more prepared to do your taxes next year.

After you answer a few questions about your income, withholdings and deductions, TaxCaster displays your expected refund. You can also test how changes to your income and deductions will impact your taxes next year and adjust withholding accordingly.

Some of the tax apps out there really only work for the simplest of returns, but this app is detailed enough to accomodate more complex federal filings.
Whether you start your return through the tablet app or on the web at, you can access your information in either location anytime using the same username and password.


$2.99 for iPhones

If you’ve already filed your taxes, you can start downloading apps for next year to help make filing your taxes even easier. With the iDonatedIt app, you can track deductible your non-cash charitable donations — even attach photos of your donations. If you’re not sure how much something is worth, iDonatedIt will help you figure it out. Even though the app costs $3, it was created by certified public accountants, so you know you’re getting a good product.

You can throw away that shoebox of your receipts that you keep all year — use Shoeboxed instead. Snap a photo or download your receipt to the app, and Shoeboxed willstore it for you. Much less mess!
