Illinois State House Democrats passed a series of test votes on gun control and concealed-carry rights.
Right now, Illinois is the only state that prohibits concealed-carry. And a federal appeals court is requiring the state to legalize it by the end of June.
But House Democrats have are taking issues one by one.
In a test vote, they voted to ban guns in schools, libraries, hospitals, sports stadiums, amusement parks, and on public transportation. Republicans called their actions a political stunt.
It’s unclear whether any of those proposals will ever become law.

It is odd that many Democrats (who allegedly are a party of the common man) are anti-gun, while Republicans (who are often for the rich and privileged) are pro-gun.

its because the rich and privileged fund Republicans, and common people vote for the Democrats, because they say what the common people want to hear, but never act it out. Its kind of sad, because there are some people who buy the hope the Democrats sell every time. Both parties want profit. If you ask me, the most reasonable common party is the Conservative party.

Those descriptions of the parties are very outdated, show prejudice, and not true.

Stadiums/arenas I can understand; Emotions tend to run high during a big game or concert and alcohol is served. Schools and court houses for the obvious reasons. Amusements parks? I can see where there might be safety issue; a gun accidentally going off or becoming unholstered and lost while on a ride (and alcohol is served at some places). LIbraries and and public transportation: In a library, no one is really anticipating any trouble except for a bunch of rowdy little tweens. Pub trans: Come on! You need some type of protection! There are characters that ride the trains and busses for the sole purpose of harming someone! At least allow the carrying of Tasers and stun guns! Because pepper spray (which is perfectly legal) is not a good idea when you are crammed in a metal tube with a few hundred people!
