In this digital age, the sending of pictures including naked pictures to boyfriends and girlfriends is becoming more common.
While there are laws against teens “sexting” there is no law against adults sending pictures and no laws against the person receiving them, then posting them online.
It’s not hard to find websites dedicated to this so called “revenge porn.”
But for the people victimized, mostly women, it’s very difficult to get those pictures off the internet.
There are thousands of victims of “revenge porn.” The overwhelming majority are women. The phenomenon also known as “cyber rape” is a growing threat to the safety of women.
“Revenge porn” is not illegal, but the Illinois State’s Attorney’s office encourages anyone who is harassed, threatened or stalked as of result their naked pictures being posted online to contact police.
Rape victim advocates and other organizations also offer free counseling for people that have been victimized.

lol … I kinda want to give a thumbs up for the hilariousness of this request. But then the other part of me says this is not funny. So I will remain neutral.

It's called consequences. Don't do stupid things and bad things won't happen.
Seems simple enough..

Pretty simplistic and untrue. Bad things happen to good people all the time.

Use VHS tapes for personal porn and to review positions and technique.

Rule of thumb…if you would't show the image to your mom or clergy, you probably shouldn't take it or share it online.

Nothing but a bunch of people whining about something they did. If you weren't taking the pictures of yourself and giving them to people you would have no problem. Someone else is always to blame. No one takes responsibility for anything they do anymore.

And what about people who don't know their picture is being taken? People do that. They turn off the sound or wait until someone is asleep. Once the picture was "just for me", and then when they break up it's "forget him/her", it's for revenge. Is that whining? It's a problem regardless. I don't condone it, but sometimes the pictures aren't all from someone WILLING to take them.

It's whining.

I really think it's horrible that a person would post anything on the net without the person's permission. Also, since revenge is the driving force behind these postings, it really should be illegal. This type of activity causes people to kill themselves, lose friends and jobs, and most of all self respect. There must be some legal course of action that can be taken against those who think they can get away with destroying some one's life.

Ok, it's pretty douchey to post pics of someone else online. I agree that it's wrong. But why are people so uptight about their body? With all the nudity and porn on the internet I can't see how this would be a huge problem. Every time you use a public restroom or hotel you run the risk of being photographed or filmed naked. It's just a fact of life now. Sure it could be made illegal – in the US – but the internet is a worldwide service. I suppose one way to help discourage the release of images is a bound contract that's notarized. But who goes through that when they are "in love" ?

I'm a male victim of revenge porn. For all of those blaming the victims…. F you. Pictures she took of me leaving the shower and while I was sleeping gave her friends ammo for blackmail which led to more pictures and eventually when they all got posted caused me great humiliation, loss of jobs and friends and is the reason why I'm still single. I'm a hermit too embarrassed to be seen in public. I didn't deserve any of this and am powerless to do anything about it. It's basically being nude in public, a nightmare scenario, forever, no way to run and hide or even cover up. The thought of just anyone being able to see those pictures and no laws out there to stop people from posting them and forwarding them, causes me a great amount of stress on a daily basis. I have been fighting to get them removed from everywhere I can find them every chance I get, but they just get reposted and I'm fighting a losing battle. People who think something this devastating to people is funny are horrible people.
