Police are searching for the person who shot and killed a teenage boy, and injured another teen in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood.
Both were sitting in a parked car in the 2400 block of West Cermak Road around 6 p.m., when another car pulled up, and someone inside opened fire, police said.
The victims drove themselves to Rush University Medical Center.
A 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead on arrival, from a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Oscar Marquez, of the 700 block of South Oakley Boulevard.
His companion sustained a gunshot wound to the arm, and his condition was stabilized at Rush.
No arrests have been made. Area detectives are investigating.
