Man charged in Loop hotel shooting

An Evanston man is charged with shooting another man in a downtown hotel last month.

Brian Miller is accused of of shooting the 25-year-old man during a party on the 22nd floor of the Palmer House Hotel at 17 E. Monroe Street.

Following the incident, the victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition. He was one of at least seven people wounded that night.

According to Chicago police, Miller is a known gang member. The victim in the shooting picked him out of a photo array.

He has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
