Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk wants to name a gun control bill after 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, the Chicago teen shot and killed in a South Side park.

Kirk met with Illinois families Wednesday who have lost loved ones to gun violence.

He asked Pendleton’s mother if he could rename the gun control bill after Hadiya.

A spokesperson for Kirk’s office says the teen’s parents were “receptive” to the idea and will work with the senator on the legislation.

The bill would make gun trafficking a federal crime.

I MEAN I THINK THAT IT'S REALLY NICE THAT THEY DO SO.. HOWEVER, I THINK IT IS REALLY UNFAIR HOW ALL THE ATTENTION AND RESPECT THIS YOUNG LADY IS GETTING, WHEN KIDS DIE EVERYDAY IN CHICAGO. BABIES IN ALL. THE MESSAGE YOU ARE SENDING TO THEM IS NOT RIGHT. YOUR DEATH ONLY GETS RECOGNITION IF U ATTEND THE INAGURATION? LIKE WHY ALL THE SUDDEN YALL WANNA NAME THE BILL AFTER HER. HAVENT ENOUGH KIDS DIED ALREADY FOR THAT. THE WORLD WE LIVE IN. MONEY TALKS, BULLSHIT WALKS. MAY ALL THE KIDS THAT HAVE BEEN A VICTIM TO GUN VIOLENCE IN CHICAGO RECEIVE JUSTICE.

Nothing like riding the back of a dead kid. Until you kill the worthless apes and gang bangers you won't stop a thing.
