Man shot during robbery attempt on South Side

A man was shot during an attempted robbery on the South Side.

It happened in the 9500 block of South Clyde Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the victim was walking with another man, when two robbers confronted them with a gun and demanded their money.

The 25-year-old victim fought with one of the thieves, and was shot.

Police say a woman recognized one of the suspects when they tried to run away, and drove into the robber with her car to try and stop him.

The man was taken to the hospital in serious-to-critical condition.

No arrests have been made.

Don't think that your a macho man when somebody has a gun. Not a good idea. Too bad the 25 year old didn't know that.

The witness said she recognized one of the suspects, she better cooperate with police and have this scumbag in jail by noon. However, something tells me she might have a brain lapse and forget the name and face of the suspect she may or may not have seen.

At least she did do something. She deserves praise for that and he is in the hospital. Hopefully under lock and key.
