One killed in crash on Tri-State Tollway

A woman is dead after a crash on the Tri-State tollway in Glenview.
It happened just before 11pm Saturday night in the southbound lanes of I-294 near Willow Road.
Illinois State Police say Danielle Pisterzi, 21, of Chicago, tried to pass another car and lost control.
Her car hit the median and rolled over.
Pisterzi was ejected from her car and taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
No one else was injured.
All southbound lanes of the tollway were closed for several hours as the state police investigated.   The tollway has since reopened.

Sorry to the relatives for their loss. In this weather We have to be extra careful. There is too much ice and snow. The tri state is a racetrack and the state police is nowhere in sight. I just hope She was not passing a trucker, You see they can drive on any lane they want. I drive 60 miles everyday on the tollway so I know. Stay out of the left lane and let these idiots pass.

So true, stay out of the left lanes as much as possible. Let the wreckles speeders pass. You'll still get to your destination if you drive 50-60 mph, no need to hurry especially in this kind of weather.

This picture ripped my heart out of my chest. Danielle was so full of life and had the most amazing smile that would light up a room. The feeling of loss is unbearable. Rest in peace beautiful angel.

This is not the type of weather to be in a rush. Slow down you will eventually get to where you are going hopefully without harm. And also use your seatbelts theres a reason for them. My condolences to the family.

What does it matter? A young girl is dead and no matter the reason, that is always a tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends.

I travel on the Tri-State and get off Willow – I just have to say that driving slow can be just as problematic as speeding. Don't assume that just because you're driving slow you're a "safe" driver – typically if traffic is moving at 70-75 mph and you're doing 60 YOU'RE THE HAZARD because everyone else is trying to get around you.

One month ago today many of us lost our way when our lives were turned upside down. The world seemed to keep on going but we are all in a stand still trying to make sense of this. Danielle's memories are the one thing keeping her alive, and this should NEVER be said about a 21 year old. Life is too precious, PLEASE PLEASE drive carefully.
