The newest class of Chicago Police Department detectives will begin their new jobs Sunday.
The class of 70 detectives graduated Friday in a ceremony at Navy Pier. It is the first group of new detectives since 2008.
Sunday, the newly promoted detectives will receive their new assignments during orientation and join the 850 detectives currently working in the CPD.

So it looks like there's 5 new black detectives, 2 Latino and 63 new white ones? Gotta love a country of equal opportunity! That's worse than the ratio of white to black presidents! (Sarcastically) Keep it up America, you definitely are a land where we all can succeed equally.

@Noticin Thangs…Why is everything got to be black and white? It should be about progress. Do you know of someone that didn't get the job due to race? Doubt it! I bet that if you needed a detective to solve a loved ones murder, their race wouldn't be an issue. We know what race you are~ it's called ignorant!
