Police are questioning a 12-year-old boy who robbed another student using a BB gun, at a school on Chicago’s Northwest side.
The incident happened about 2:40 p.m. Friday at Palmer Elementary school, on 5051 N. Kenneth Ave.
According to police, the boy held the gun to the chest of a 13-year-old boy in a bathroom, then took and took $5 from him. The gun had a magazine that could have held a live round of ammunition.
The boy could face armed robbery charges, police said.
Chicago Public Schools did not release any details, but released a statement regarding the robbery:
“When school officials learned of the incident, police were called and the CPS does not tolerate the presence of any weapon of any kind on school property for the safety and security of our schools, students, staff and visitors,” a spokesman said in a statement. “School officials took the appropriate steps of notifying CPD, who then took immediate action at the school.”

and the parents should also be getting size12, need to put parents accountable for their child behavoir
February 9, 2013 at 7:48 PM
YOU COULD SAY THAT AGAIN CAUSE IF THEY STARTED HOLDING THESE SO CALLED PARENTS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR KIDS ACTIONS THEN JUST MAYBE THE SCHOOL SYSTEM COULD GET HALF WAY BACK IN ORDER!!!!!!

unfortunately, 90% of the time it is the parent's fault.
i don't mean to be self-righteous but divorce, single parenthood, dysfunctional nuclear families plus uncontrolled media & internet in the home plays huge factor.

he should, so that other kids will not emulate the bastard.
in Afghanistan & parts of Africa, 9 year olds carry AK47 full assault weapons. What makes America's urban jungle any different?!

Since City Hall can't afford armed guards in CPS (like private schools), Mayor Rahm "The Dictator" Emmanuel should put face recoginition cams at entrances & exits, metal detectors at the school entrance, CCTV in school hallways, steel doors for every classroom instead of putting those ineffective speed cams near schools and parks. Security in schools at CPS is very lax, anybody could just go in and out.

I am not familiar with the design of BBguns here in the states but back home I had a Walther PPK BB gun, modded it and loaded .22 caliber live ammunition which we used to shoot rats and monitor lizards with.
