Storm passes, warm weekend expected

Chicago will see a much drier, but colder day as we wrap up the workweek.

Some slick spots are possible as the rain and snow from Thursday has frozen on roads and sidewalks. snowman

Behind Thursday’s storm system that brought Chicagoland a wintry mix of precipitation, including nearly ten inches of snow in parts of our northern counties, we can expect morning clouds to break and bring partly sunny skies in the afternoon.

Temperatures in the low 30s will feel more like the mid-teens or low 20s thanks to north winds of 10-20 mph.

A modest warm up begins Saturday as mostly sunny skies help boost temperatures into the mid-30s.

Sunday is expected to warmer, but rain is likely.  Sunday’s rain will combine with melting snow to make for a sloppy and wet end to the weekend.
