Chicago alderman renewed a push to keep the South Side Irish Parade and other events free of drunken and inappropriate behavior.
The group of alderman passed a bill that would increase the fine on people caught drinking in public to a maximum of one-thousand dollars.
Minors busted for being drunk would get a fine of up to $500 dollars or 25 hours of community service.
People cited for going to the bathroom in public would see a $1000 dollar fine.
The entire city council will vote on the proposals next week.
If approved, they will go into effect immediately, just in time for the South Side Irish Parade on March 10th.
