Three people were killed in a crash on the city’s West Side, according to officials.
The accident happened about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 3100 block of South Western, according to Chicago Police News Affairs.
Police said a Jeep Cherokee was traveling eastbound on 31st Street when it hit the curb, then a light pole, and then landed on it’s roof.
Firefighters responded to the scene and transported three people who had been riding in the car to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to fire officials.
One of the individuals was in “extremely critical condition”, and the other two were in critical condition, fire officials said at the time of the accident. All three were later pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Chicago Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
