Olympic skier Vonn airlifted to hospital after crash in Austria

The four time Wold Cup Champion Lindsey Vonn was airlifted to a hospital following a serious crash in Schladming, Austria.

The accident occurred Tuesday after Vonn lost balance on her right leg while landing after a jump at the Alpine World Ski Championships.

Vonn then collided with a gate before coming to a halt.  Her injuries are not life threatening, but she is being treated for a “complex knee injury”.

Vonn’s accident comes only days after X-Games snowmobiler, Caleb Moore died as a result of injuries he sustained in a crash.
