A firefighter was injured Monday night at an abandoned warehouse fire on the city’s South Side.

The fire broke out on the first floor of a building located near Halsted and 49th Street but was quickly contained.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

The firefighter remained awake and alert at the Hospital Monday night.
