Police in Bolingbrook are looking for a man who allegedly tried to abduct two teenage girls on their way home from Bolingbrook High School.
The man first tried to force a 16-year-old girl into his car, about 3:20 p.m. Tuesday afternoon near Radcliff and Old stone road, police said. A bystander saw the girl struggling with the man and yelled at him, prompting the man to get in his vehicle and drive away, police said. The girl ran home and told a parent, who then called 911.
The suspect tried again about 2:10 p.m. Thursday, approaching a different 16-year-old on her way home from school in the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive. She fought him off and he ran away. The suspect was last seen driving a blue, late 1990′s Ford Explorer, according to police.
Valley View School District 365U posted an alert about the incidents on its website today.
“Please remind your children to not talk to strangers when they are walking to and from school,” the alert says. “If a stranger does approach your children, they should not talk to him or go with him. Tell your children to report any suspicious adults to you, their teacher, or the office.”
Both incidents are under investigation, police said.
