Red Square Cafe Lounge: Historic Russian Turkish Bathhouse returns to Division Street

On last night’s WGN News, I went to check out the new Red Square Cafe Lounge.

This isn’t your ordinary cafe.

It’s actually a bathhouse, located in the same space at the historic Russian Turkish Bathhouse in Wicker Park. After 100 years in business, the bathhouse closed in 2010. After a year of renovating the space, the new owners are up and running with a concept they’re calling Red Square Cafe Lounge. Downstairs, both men and women have their own separate spas. Upstairs, you’ll find a full bar and restaurant. And just like the old days, you can get in a steam, and eat a full meal in nothing but your robe.

My feature is posted above. Red Square is celebrating its official grand opening in February, but they’re currently in “soft opening” mode and ready for business. Here’s more info…

Red Square Cafe Lounge | 1914 W. Division | 773-227-2284 | $30 for spa admission, restaurant plates vary
