News of the 15-year-old girl who was shot and killed a week after performing at the inauguration made it all the way to powerful halls of Washington.
Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin mentioned victim Hadiya Pendelton during a Congressional hearing on gun control on Capitol Hill.
Even White House Presidential Spokesman Jay Carney commented on her murder.
“The president and first lady’s thoughts and prayers are with the family of Hadiya Pendleton,” Carney said. “All of our thoughts and prayers are with her family.”
And, when asked about a petition urging President Barack Obama to attend Pendleton’s funeral, White House spokesman Carney said he wasn’t aware of any petition and had no scheduling announcements to make.

beyond frustrating….you introduced this post on tonights 9-O'Clock news with the Supelsa's "and then their was this exchange," and COMPLETELY cut out any response from the NRA. C'mon!….there was absolutely no "exchange" in your clip, WGN;s bias once again palpable.
