A woman died in an overnight crash on the near West Side.

The accident happened near Hoyne and Madison shortly after 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the 30-year-old woman was driving westbound on Madison when her car slammed head-on into a median.

She was taken to the hospital where she later died.
