Mayor Emanuel says he’s committed to building a “New Chicago,” and he wants to make it easier for small businesses to get in on the action.
The city’s department of procurement services hosted a summit today for minority, women, and small family owned businesses.
It gave them an opportunity to learn about and bid on upcoming construction projects while meeting with representatives from more than a dozen city agencies involved in infrastructure spending.
The mayor emphasized the new way of doing business with the city.
