Accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death and facing a DuPage County judge today, Adam Belmont plead not guilty to the first degree murder of Alyssa Van Meter.
Prosecutors say Belmont stabbed Van Meter in the chest last month, a week after she ended their relationship.
He allegedly broke into her second floor apartment through an unlocked window after scaling the building.
Police say he killed her in the bedroom and then sexually abused her body.
