Two teenagers were shot in the North Kenwood neighborhood, and one of them, a 15-year-old girl, has died.
She was shot in the back.
The shooting happened at 45th and Oakenwald on Chicago’s South Side at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday
A 16-year-old boy was hit in the leg.
Both were taken to Comer Children’s Hospital.
Hadiya Pendelton was shot in the back and killed while standing with friends inside Harsh Park after taking final exams on Tuesday. The-15 year-old student at King College Prep was killed just a week after performing at events for President Obama’s inauguration.
Police believe the shooter mistook the group for a rival gang.
Two reputed gang members have since been charged in the murder of Hadiya. Micheail Ward, 18, and Kenneth Williams, 20, are being held without bond.
