CPS hearing gets heated
200 parents, teachers and students shouted down Chicago Public School officials at a public hearing on school closings held in Uptown tonight.
The crowd packed the bleachers at Truman College.
This was the first of several hearings to be held around the city on plans to close under-used schools.
CPS CEO Barbara Byrd Bennett has until March 31st to produce a list of schools that will be shutdown. She has agreed to spare all high schools and high-performing schools.
