A dog rescued after chasing a goose onto the ice at Jackson Harbor, has been reunited with its owner. It took workers three hours to rescue the dog off the ice on off 65th and Lake Shore Drive Tuesday.
The one-year-old shepherd mix didn’t have any tags or identification, but appeared well cared for, authorities said.
The owner visited Chicago’s Animal Care and Control shelter Friday, and found the dog on a mobile advertising sponsored lost pet tour.
Under standard procedure, the owner was required to have updated rabies tags and have a microchip that provides ownership information embedded under the dog’s skin, an official said.
