Cook County sheriff’s police are searching for a man accused of beating a woman in the northwest suburbs.

Authorities say Joseph Lopez Jr. severely beat a woman late Tuesday night in unincorporated Palatine.

Lopez is 34-years-old.

He is considered armed and dangerous..

The sheriff’s office says Lopez has threatened to shoot police officers who come into contact with him and to kill himself.

Anyone with information on Lopez is asked to call police.
