Governor Quinn hosted a summit Tuesday to look for ways to make Illinois schools safe from gun violence.

The participants included dozens of leaders from the fields of education, law enforcement, public safety and mental health.

The summit focused on crisis prevention, school and community planning and coordination, and building security.

More summits will be scheduled in response to specific problems.
