Cook County prosecutors say a man was jealous of his wife’s affair so he set her on fire and killed her.
Gregorio Carmona appeared in bond court Sunday charged with the murder of Claudia Martinez-Rayo.
Police arrested Carmona last week after the fire at their apartment in the 4800 block of North Kenneth Avenue.
The couple’s 6-year-old daughter was not injured in the fire.
Police say Carmona poured gasoline on Martinez and around the apartment and lit the fire.
