A pair of Cook County prosecutors were suspended today for not filing domestic abuse charges against a man later suspected of setting fire to his family.
The assistant state’s attorneys said there was a lack of evidence against Nathaniel Beller during a September domestic violence case.
He was accused of filling a bathtub with gasoline and threatening to kill his family.
Three months later authorities say he followed-through.. burning himself, his wife and two children.
Only their son survived.
