Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart has received the go-ahead to search a Northwest Side apartment complex for more victims of serial killer John Wayne Gacy.
Dart obtained a search warrant for the complex in the 6100 block of West Miami Avenue from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office on Friday, authorities said.
Gacy’s mother, Marion, once lived in the complex and Gacy worked there as a handyman.
Sources tell the Sun Times neighbors reported seeing Gacy digging holes and trenches on the property.
Chicago Police did a “cursory” dig at the complex in 1998, but found nothing.
Gacy was convicted of murdering 33 men and boys. He was executed in 1994.
