Mother reunites with infant who was abducted

A mother’s dread gives way to an emotional reunion.

The woman reunited with her 18 month-old daughter who was abducted in Bensenville and missing for six hours Thursday morning.

Police say the mother left her daughter in her car seat in the family vehicle while she went into an apartment building at 940 W. Irving Park Road.

The car was still running, and sitting in the parking lot. She was  talking to a friend. During that time, a man walked out from the building, jumped into the car, and sped-off.

One witness describes the horrific scene.

“I saw that she was screaming. Screaming about her baby and her car. And then, the first thing I did was call the cops,” said the witness.

An Amber Alert was issued. After several hours, authorities found the car parked in a driveway about a mile away from the building.

The infant was found safely inside.

It didn’t appear the girl was harmed, but paramedics checked her out as a precaution. She was also taken to a hospital, and treated and released.

Police are looking for a man described as Hispanic, heavy build, black hair, and wearing a red sweater.

They say he does not live in the apartment building, but they believe he knows people who do.

Her kid shouldn't have been anywhere at that time except her own bed!!!! Selfish and irresponsible people should not have children… That mother should be charged having that child out so late and leaving her alone.

Maybe Mom was coming home or going to work; or doing her grocery shopping the only time she has a spare moment; or maybe she had to go to the drugstore for cold medicine; or any number of things. Before you judge anyone you should know the entire story. Either way I am glad that are superior parents like all of you out there to make everyone else feel inferior oh, and I am sure you have never made an error in judgment.

NEVER EVER made an error in judgement by leaving an 18 month old CHILD IN A RUNNING CAR WHILE YOU GO OUT OF WATCHING DISTANCE A START TALKING TO A FRIEND WHILE THEY ARE OUT IN A RUNNING UNLOCKED CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a judgement in error and a tottal lapse of COMMON SENSE!!! Come on people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
