Boy had gun, bullets in school locker: police
A 13-year-old Chicago student faces a juvenile court judge Thursday morning after authorities found a gun and bullets in a bag stored in his school locker Wednesday.
Chicago police say the boy attending Marsh Elementary School at 99th and Exchange was in the playlot around 1 p.m. when he allegedly was found with a 3-inch knife in his pocket. Upon further questioning by school administrators, he admitted that he brought an unloaded gun and bullets earlier that morning.
Police responded and searched the locker where they found the boy’s backpack with an unloaded gun and an unknown number of bullets inside.
The boy has been charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon.
