Tony’s Tips:

Water houseplants thoroughly enough so water drips down into the bottom of the saucer or pot.

Use a common kitchen baster to easily remove excess water that collects at the bottom of the container after 30 minutes.

Use houseplant-specific fertilizers for houseplants in high-light areas.

Plants in low-light areas are dormant, and if there’s not new growth, don’t fertilize until March.

Consider a humidity tray for houseplants.
