Police: Employees catch bank robber before she strikes again
Alert employees of a South Side bank bust a woman, who police say was about to rob the bank for the second time in a month.
The employees at the TCF bank inside a Jewel-Osco store at 9400 S. Ashland Avenue in Chicago’s Brainerd neighborhood recognized the woman as the same person who robbed the bank on December 6th.
A teller triggered a silent alarm to police. Officers arrived before the woman had a chance to step up to the counter.
They arrested her and say the woman was holding a note demanding cash.
The woman was turned over to the FBI. Her name has not been released. She faces charges in both incidents.
