Police: Employees catch bank robber before she strikes again

Alert employees of a South Side bank bust a woman, who police say was about to rob the bank for the second time in a month.

The employees at the TCF bank inside a Jewel-Osco  store at 9400 S. Ashland Avenue  in Chicago’s Brainerd neighborhood recognized the woman as the same person who robbed the bank on December 6th.

A teller triggered a silent alarm to police.  Officers arrived before the woman had a chance to step up to the counter.

They arrested her and say the woman was holding a note demanding cash.

The woman was turned over to the FBI.   Her name has not been released. She faces charges in both incidents.

congratulations to the employee… Fast thinking and acting. Had it not been for this employee, they would have never caught this woman. I hope the employee gets some kind of bonus or a reward. Good Job!!
