Both the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate are expected to vote today to approve the first round of federal aid to the victims of Superstorm Sandy.

Congress needs to approve almost $10 billion to replenish the National Flood Insurance program, so it can pay out claims for flood damage.

There is damage from Maine to North Carolina, and 140,000 homeowners have already filed claims.

Congress is expected to approve another $50 billion in storm relief on January 15th.
