Chicago has already recorded its first three shooting deaths of the New Year.
20-year-old Octavius Lamb was on his way to a friend’s home when he was shot in the throat, in the 700 block of North Noble Street.
29-year-old Kevin Jemison was shot in the head near 45th and Champlain.
19-year-old Devonta Grisson was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting near 58th and Sacramento, in Gage Park.
For 2012, Chicago recorded 506 homicides; 16 percent more than the previous year.
