From bars to restaurants to homes all over the Chicago, revelers are getting ready to ring in 2013.

Liquor stores and party stores were busy Monday, helping people stock up on party supplies.

There might be fewer balloons at the parties this year.  A helium shortage is forcing party supply stores to pay twice the price for a tank of helium.  Stores are then expected to pass the cost on to customers.

Some liquor stores are reporting lower-than-expected sales because of the economy.
